Interesting. When we're losing the detractors are on here like a shot. Currently 5-0 up and not a whisper. Hmmm.  ::)

On second thoughts Ray, you're right. It made a nice change no to have Martin and Edward spitting bile and personally insulting and abusing the players and casting doubts about the manager's abilities.

Let's hope Thursday  can be the 'Zenit' of our season.
Don't make the same mistake twice, there's plenty of new ones to choose from.

Those who choose to preach would do well to take note of their own sermons.

Wrong answer, Ed.  :D

We've just whopped the mighty Swansea 5-0 at home.

I think that's what they mean by progress. And, they're in the top ten, nay, they were ahead of us before kick off. We've beaten a team ahead of us in the league. Let your cup runneth over.

C'mon Ed, get with the progress program.  :D
I mean I'm happy we won 'n all but as we discussed
in relation to Bayern, to be taken seriously (e.g. by the
likes of Guardiola) the attitude and mentality should
be always, it's not good enough. The guy they sacked,
suggested that they were out of the title race in April...gone!

I want to be hearing lots of work to be done to return us to
the top level, need to keep working hard across all areas
etc., not the self-help crap (glass full, glass empty, I don't give
a damn or have the slightest clue why there even has to be a glass  :D )

“I don’t want to be hung out to dry as a fool.
I am a glass-half-full man. I have got to where
I am in life because I am optimistic. That is how
I have always approached my work and my life.

“If you don’t think you can do it then you won’t do it.
You have to see it to believe it. I’ve always said that
you can live without water for many days, but you can’t
live for a second without hope. If you don’t have hope
then you’ve got no chance.”

Things tend to get a bit messy without a glass.  :D

I was out all day, driving in the mountains with my friend, looking for plants, beautiful weather, got some sun (lest my detractors were concerned about my wherabouts).

arrived home to a wonderful result.

now if only we could play Swansea reserves every week,  we could be onto something.

wow, it was only a few years ago, when we were playing CL football - and whipping real madrid and then man utd (in the premiership) in the same week.

Wow, that boss was not good enough, apparently.  But today, beating a swansea team that had rested 7 of their first team, means knighthoods and related badges for all and sundry.

Football eh, what a funny old game.

I think that's the difference, Ed. We're not yet ready to be sweet talked and spun into accepting mediocrity, and finding our pleasure in what should be the routine.

A bit of perspective is always nice after an afternoon like today's:

"As unlikely as it seems, a comprehensive 5-0 victory revealed little for Liverpool on a leisurely winter afternoon at Anfield.

There will be efforts to declare this as a further sign of progress or disregard it as a result expected against an understrength Swansea side. In truth, it deserves neither superlatives nor scorn. It was a routine victory against a team fundamentally low on confidence, their selection essentially confirming non-selection for their Capital One Cup final next weekend. This was a team not playing for places -- nor pride, it seemed -- as heads dropped from the first whistle.
"

And beat them we did, by God.

yes, what with our thrashing of swansea reserves, everton failing to beat our fa cup conquerors, it's been a glorious weekend.

and with the progress we are making, we won;t have to fly to the european continent again, at least not in the near future.....we will be able to focus entirely on the premiership.

onwards and upwards.

Good result. Swansea rest 7 players though for the Carling Cup next sunday though. So i won't quite start feeling that Rodgers has turned a corner. We can only beat the team infront of us though and we did that capably today.
Just goes to show the lack of depth in the Swansea squad then doesn't it? And why rest your first choice when they won't be playing a game for 7 days? Where's the logic in that? Yes, it was a damn good result after two disappointing ones. MoTD is about to start so I shall enjoy watching it for a change.
Cheers,
Ray

Let's hope Thursday  can be the 'Zenit' of our season.

You're becoming very cynical Tes. Yes, I hope too that we can take the form from this game into Thursday. Not having Sturridge is a pain though. Hopefully Couthino is eligible.
Cheers,
Ray
