Top Top Top Top Players

Dismayed to hear Rodge's response to Fergie's
pop at Gerrard - apparently he's not a top, top player.

Why bring Kenny and Souness into it? & since
when do we indulge the comments of bitter old ex-United
managers. Should have just pointed to what United's
ex-talisman Keane had to say about his manager & left
it at us not being interested in what he has to say.

Following on from him eulogising Harry
Redknapp the other day, better he says nothing methinks  :)

He didn't say anything wrong per se...
but if he was a real leader he should have said 'what does that bitter git know about Liverpool football club?'

Yeah, spot on there Bart and that's always been my number 1 gripe with him.

Managers have different temperaments and who's to say, but I've always felt
for a rebuild job where we're at requires that extra fight (call it x-factor). Rodgers
doesn't have that, not going to knock anyone off a perch, too busy being best mates with
everyone. To see him indulge that Gerrard comment & then proceed to try and
justify the answer (even saying that previous Liverpool teams in which Stevie played in
were substandard!) . I also seem to recall Stevie saying previously that SAF was a brilliant
manager. Never remember Shanks having a good word to say about Everton. Too busy being
politicians, the current lot.

Course they never asked him about Fergie's comment about us needing 8 players
if we're to win the league (surely Rodgers has signed more than 3 players)  ;D

I don't know Ed. It doesn't seem to have to do with what Rodgers' saying. More so with the fact you get dismayed whatever he says. This article quotes him extensively and I find it really hard to find anything in there that could get me even remotely dismayed.

I guess it's OK you don't like and support the manager of this club. I just wish you could keep your hateful remarks to yourself. Thanks.

The modest Oracle of the Anfield Road Forum sometimes mistaken for Judas Iscariot.

He was too busy shutting the curtains.  :D
Don't make the same mistake twice, there's plenty of new ones to choose from.

Yeah. But this is a club built by Bill Shankly. It stands to reason that it's in the DNA of
the supporters to prick their ear up when the manager speaks. He was out there 24/7
fighting for his club - not being best mates with everyone so that when the next gig
comes along...

He was too busy shutting the curtains.  :D
Love the psychology of the whole thing  ;D

Fergie is right about one thing we are 8 players short of winning/competing for the league.

We need 2 CB's, 1 LB, 1 DM, 1 CM, 1 wide player, 1 AM and another striker. Plus a replacement for Suarez when he goes.

I don't think anybody in their right mind would really expect us to do more than challenge for fifth, despite a steady start to the season.

The midfield is in need of major surgery/re-think, as it offers little either defensively or offensively.
