Funny being an LFC supporter this time of year with
nothing, nada, happening football-wise while other
clubs contest for trophies.
Must be how it feels like to be a mid-table club - which we're becoming,
albeit with a higher league position.
Under Rodgers we're also-rans, Ed.
When you look at the likes of Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern...they dominate world football because they built strong balanced squads with the odd superstar thrown in. As they gain success all they have to do is enhance with 2 or 3 players and never have to buy 8/9 players as a panic buy.
It's a slow and steady process which ultimately pays off.
I have a great deal of time for FSG and how they've kept the stadium at Anfield and enhancing that atmosphere. The problem is, is that we're not enhancing the team itself.
I see that we're now in the top six superclubs in the world (world fan base, social media buzz) with real, barca, manure, citeh and chelsea...and yet look at us, praying that manure slip up and we can have a miracle against Chelsea.
We need to dump the buying kids and selling them milarky now. With agents involved nowadays then every 18 year old think they're Messi.
We need to go back to the old ways of Liverpool. No primadonna's, no ego's...just a strong balance team which plays until their lungs burst and kicks ass.
