Brilliant piece, and whether we like it or not, and admitting it's accuracy doesn't make you less of a supporter somehow, which seems to the charge that has been levelled by some at others, more than once on here.

The author, Steven Kelly, must spend a lot of time reading this forum.  ;D
Don't make the same mistake twice, there's plenty of new ones to choose from.

Those who choose to preach would do well to take note of their own sermons.

LIVERPOOL: Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno, Lucas, Allen, Henderson, Gerrard, Lallana, Coutinho

So we start without a single striker on the pitch. In a season where we've struggled to score goals. I don't see any forward planning for next season in that team.

Stoke lead three-nil after only thirty minutes.

Liverpool are an absolute shambles.

The Brentmaster General's time is up.

The American owners have no choice now, but to act.

Operation 'avoid European football' heading for a successful conclusion.

Everton 0-1 Spurs. The bitters lying down to make sure we're beaten by Spurs into that 'coverted' 5th place.

What a complete clusterf@ck this season has been. I wonder if Hendo's regreting signing that contract.

I'll raise you another one. 5-0

4 more goals and our goal difference gets wiped out.

West Ham will be looking for a new manager on Monday. Rodgers is the perfect fit for them. They like pretty, unsuccessful football there.

Somehow I doubt we'll see The Brodge fall on his sword.

good point re the bluenoses.

Though I am happy to avoid the Europa Clown league.

Rodgers probably reckoned today would be all about the reaction of fans when he brings Sterling on with ten minutes to go (I assume the kid has a spot on the bench).   Rodgers probably had already been practicising - in front of his bathroom mirror - his speech of "The kid is a good kid".

INSTEAD, the story has changed.  This whipping will now mean the fans (and media) will be calling for his head by the end of this nightmare.

Whether he has lost the dressing room or not - our team has been on the beach since the United loss, some 6 weeks ago.

five-nil.

it is now half-time.

We've managed to half the goal difference it's taken us 37 games to amass in a single half of one game.

Has Rodgers lost the dressing room? The plot? His job? Tune into the next episode of the soap opera that is Liverpool Football Club, to find out the answer to these and other questions. We're sure to win ITV's 'best soap' award next year. If Rodgers is here in August it'll be the only thing we're likely to win.

yes, west ham is the very height of his level.

FSG will now have to react.

They are snookered.  Every man and his dog now sees the writing on the wall.

And why are we playing Gerrard.  They guy was done ages ago.  This endless going away party, and throwing sweat-laden elvis style scarves to his fans, is old already.  Shankly and Paisley would be turning in their graves.

it would seem that the dressing room is lost.

Or at the very least, they are not listening to him.

They have been on the beach since the United loss.

Totally, totally unprofessional.  Entirely unaceptable.

The club should give the fans their money back.

But this is what I just don't understand.

On Saturday 21st March we were just 2 points off the Mancs, 6 behind Arsenal, with a game in hand and with them to play next after the Manc game on Sunday 22nd March. The Mancs were 4th and Arsenal 3rd.
We also had an FA Cup semi final to look forward to against a Villa team that lay in 16th place, just 3 points above the last relegation spot and 26 points behind us on a mere 28 points, having also played a game more than us.

Fast forward just 9 weeks.............

very true.

the wheels came off the wagon at that point, the reason as yet unclear.

the players just lost all belief at that point.
