You'll hear that Villa made a £5m offer for Rickie Lambert. That is false. All they have done is enquire to Lambert's availability. No way would their owner sanction £5m for a player in his 30's. I don't know what Villa would have offered but it hasn't gotten that far.

We do want Ings but only in the summer.

Unless Villa are sold before the Summer it's doubtful that Lerner will give Lambert a transfer budget worth it's description, nevermind allow him to double the amount of Lamberts at the club by actually handing over any money.
