Gerrard New England Captain????

Following John Terrys sacking as England captain Stevie is favourite with the bookies (11/10) to be the next captain.

My personal opinion is that he should stay as far away from this circus as possible. But will the lure of lifting the world cup be too much to turn down?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Don't make the same mistake twice, there's plenty of new ones to choose from.

Those who choose to preach would do well to take note of their own sermons.

*CUE: Rio calling his agent and asking how much more he will now earn from his sponsors*

Can't wait for the Sunday papers - cue Rio being linked to everyone whilst his agent tries to claim he only wants to be paid what he deserves.

Of course they'll be no 'roll of shame' about Ingurlund's new captain. All that work has gone to waste in preparation of Gerrard being announced as the new Mr England.

it's all very different from our day.

in our day, you'd have walked over hot coals, and been immensely proud, to be given the captaincy of your country.

nowadays, it's a big pay day, to be made captain.

still, John Terry played away from home and burnt his bridges.
