Arsenal havent won much in the last 6 years but aside from Chelsea and United who has? Sacking Wenger would just add to the maddness that has become the English Premier League. What chance is there of the next young Arsene Wenger  making it if bettering teams with billion pound squads becomes fans least expectations. At least it makes a nice change for once that LFC can put the head down unoticed and concentrate on winning football games.

I think Arsenal missed the boat this summer, they should have been in for the man that's ended up at Chelski, Villas Boas. They have stagnated this last 6 or 7 years. Selling the likes of Fabregas and Nasri and not replacing them with some sort of quality will cost them dear this season. The thing is Fabregas was linked with Barca last season, Wenger must have known that there was a 99.9% chance that he would lose him in the summer, so why no replacement lined up?

This makes for interesting listening:

The 1st 20 seconds tell you what Kenny's remit is.. "team selection and coaching"
After that, Commoli goes on to outline HIS remit...."everything else of a footballing nature"

I can see this turning into another Parry, Statler and Waldorf circus that Rafa had to endure but I hope I'm wrong. I do see we are being linked with Arron Lennon, didn't Comolli sign him for Spurs?

Manure, totally outclassed last night, it was truly men against boys, old shitty bottom didn't have a clue on how to beat Barca.  :D.

You are 3-1 down, 15 mins to play, who do you bring on to try and change the match?

A: Scholes, classic move there Fergie, bwhehehehehehehe

I also LMFAO when I heard that idiot Tyldesley say that it was a pity Fletcher wasn't on, like he was the messiah and the missing link to manure winning last night, classic comedy at its best.  ;D

Spot on Dude and Tes  ;)

You're very welcome dude. I'm attaching a link for UK readers who might want to buy the book. As I have a credit with Waterstones I'll get myself a copy. http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/products/brian+reade/an+epic+swindle/8297894/

Think back 12 months the next time you feel a bit low. Millions paid in interest to RBS, Hicks talking of a 'big summer', no sign of new owners and no CL football.

Yeah but we have no Rafa, yet some idiots still blame him for all that went wrong with this great club of ours. Had he been given this season without Stadler and Waldorf I think we'd be higher up the league than we currently are. Woy was the YES man THEY 2 clowns wanted, Rafa at least stood up to them and wouldn't take any of their BS.

Fast forward 12 months and we have a much-loved manager back in the fold, payments on a loan you and I could probably afford, prospects of serious business in the summer transfer market (that's in, not out) but sadly probably no CL football.

Agreed, I think if Kenny is given the job FT we'll be a lot closer next season, with no CL football or possibly no European football at all we could give the league a good run. Kenny will have a list of players he wants and players he knows aren't cutting it.

I'd say 3 out of 4 was pretty good wouldn't you? And with the increasingly likelihood Pepe will give it another season that almost makes up for no CL football.

Ever thought of becoming a part-time judge? I love your version of justice.  :D

Great result, great performance, great everything. Too bad we can't repeat the feat. I was very happy to see us today but throughout the game last weekend's decable was like a wet blanket over this game. If we could've mustered a 10th of the passion, movement and resilience we displayed today against Blackpool, Blackburn, Birmingham, West Ham, Wolves and Stoke we'd be in contention for more than 4th. Problem is, this has been the pattern for over a decade. In fact it's made us so predictable it was written all over after our defeat to West Ham we'd win today's game. In other words, lose/draw against relegation fodder just to play the reigning champions off the park a few days later. Until we get rid of this inconsistency we'll be a Europa League team, at best.

I don't mean to sound negative but it's hard to enjoy this victory knowing full we'll we're less than 50 % to beat Sunderland away in a fortnight making today's great result futile. I understand the locals may enjoy the bragging rights won, but in a long term perspective it's hard not to have a more realistic view on this. Arsenal doesn't seem strong enough to prevent ManU from winning no. 19, I'm afraid.

Are you for real? Just last week you were calling us all kinds of crap and how the whole squad needs replaced, now we're quality. Are you really a Liverpool supporter or just a troll? I don't think we'd have won as convincingly under Roy yesterday, in fact, he's such good friends with the Tramp I suspect we'd have lost by the same scoreline.

On another note. It's good to see the Tramp throwing his toys out the pram, makes me laugh knowing that this defeat eats away at him  :D

I can't see Rafa being offered the job in the summer. I still expect Kenny to be offered the position fulltime. Pity he didn't take it at the start of the season mind you, we'd certainly be higher than 6th right now

So fed up with the anti-intellecutal "shoestring budget" argument. What then about Blackpool, Blackburn, Wigan, Wolves and West Ham? They prolly spent a 10th the last 5 years we did the last 2 months. Not that that prevented them from outplaying us. We've let this club been run by continental sci-fi wizards adopting an extremly instrumental perspective on footy for over a decade. True enough, it won us some success but at the sametime slowly drained us on the identity that saw us once claim to be the bestest side in English footy (it's just a matter of months, or weeks, rather til that's history). That's why we time and again turn up a side of 11 individuals totally unable to dig deep when the going gets tough, that's why it's time and again (for the past 3-4 years) been almost impossible to distinguish us from a relegatin side (provided we played one).

What I don't understand is that it's the very same squad you sang their praises for when the beat Chelski 1-0 just a few weeks ago, you can't come back after a defeat and start screaming for every man and his dog to be sacked and saying how useless they all are.

Again. Outplayed, outclassed, outsmarted, outscored, outwilled, out-what-have-you against relegation fodder.

Bitch Bitch Bitch Moan Moan Moan

Is that all you ever do? Yeah I'm disappointed with the result like everyone else but apart from the recent win at Chelski you've done nothing but criticise, why don't you write to the Liverpool board and tell them exactly where they are going wrong and how you'd fix it on a shoestring budget and the players you'd bring in to replace the mediocrity that you find throughout the squad with your own brand of fantasy football

Doesn't Caroll have a thigh injury? I heard he'd be out for a week or 2 minimum, so that leaves us back at square 1 with Suarez possibly playing up front on his own. Looks like Gerrard may play in behind BUT the way Meireles has been playing lately with Torres he'd get the call from me and hopefully Kenny won't be swayed by Gerrards return.

1) I'm past the fact his gone and I never thought of him as "my man" in the hotseat but at the same time I believed he deserved the same treatment and respect other managers for this once great club always recieved. That he never got and wrongly so. By that token I'm firmly behind Kenny even though I don't believe he either is the right man to lead this club to glory.

Roy would have not taken us forward m8, we were going backwards and rather quickly, I suspect by the seasons end we'd have been in a relegation battle. Hopefully Kenny's appointment will not only steady the ship but plug the hole that's causing it to slowly sink

2) I didn't see much today I didn't at OT a couple of months back, or at WHL less than a month ago, or against Chelsea at home, or a*senal at home or Man City away. In fact I was apalled at how little we created. How little effort Torres continue to put in. If he doesn't recieve the ball perfectly he doesn't lift a finger to reach it. People say he doesn't get the service he needs. Problem is, he need to be more active to be able to recieve it.

Lay off Torres man, the saying Form is temporary Class is permanent is never truer for a World Class striker of his calibre. There's not a team in Europe that would turn Torres down, once Kenny gets started I'm pretty hopefull he'll be back to his best and if he wants away then sell him but in the meantime get behind the lad and the team

Just replied in another thread but a m8 was telling me in the pub today that he has it on good authority that MON has been approached to take over in the summer

Dude, The DVD is Bedazzled I think. Worth a look. Liz on top

The only thing she'd look good on top of would be my dick :P

Onto football matters, was chatting with a m8 in the pub today and he has it on good authority that Martin O'Neil has been approached to take over in the summer. Well until then we'll just have to wait and see.

Irrespective of whether this story is true or not Woy has to go, that first half display against Bolton yesterday was truly shocking,  :o but what I 'd like to know is, what did Woy say at halftime that he didn't say before the start of the match because we looked like a totally different side in the 2nd half, that's if he said anything at all. Did I hear correctly that he'd have been happy with a draw? ffs, that says it all
