Liverpool FC, football, sport / Top Top Top Top Players
« on: October 24, 2013, 09:33:25 PM »
Dismayed to hear Rodge's response to Fergie's
pop at Gerrard - apparently he's not a top, top player.

http://www.theguardian.com/football/audio/2013/oct/24/brendan-rodger-alex-ferguson-steven-gerrard

Why bring Kenny and Souness into it? & since
when do we indulge the comments of bitter old ex-United
managers. Should have just pointed to what United's
ex-talisman Keane had to say about his manager & left
it at us not being interested in what he has to say.

Following on from him eulogising Harry
Redknapp the other day, better he says nothing methinks  :)

Liverpool FC, football, sport / An interesting Debate
« on: October 01, 2013, 10:59:40 PM »
Some interesting comment here on something
we occasionally touch on in our online kickabouts
but is oft overlooked with the pre-occupation on
the league.

Personally, I thought that our exit from the Capital One
cup should have been scrutinised a bit more by the fanbase,
instead it was glossed over as a good performance away to
United?? In fact it was us exiting 1 of the 3 competitions we're in,
which kind of makes it 2 out of 4 by September if Europe is
included - an indicator of our health as a club at present and the
long road ahead...United (currently in crisis) are still in 4.

It's all about managing squads of players in campaigns over the course
of a season, such things don't change overnight I'm afraid.

Decided to stop bitchin' for a while.

I'll be honest, haven't watched any of our pre-season!

Anyway, Mr. Wilson's written something on that 4-2-1-3
formation:

Liverpool FC, football, sport / Coutinho - Overhyped?
« on: August 12, 2013, 10:48:20 PM »
January, we signed a young lad from Brazil,
how the f**k did he become the future of the
club in the space of 8 months?

Just completely ridiculous and symptomatic of the
desperation of fans and shoddy way the club is run
from one transfer window to the next.

Was Sterling last season, a kid.

What happened to putting in place a spine of 6 players
to grind out consistent results for the 38 games & viewing
the likes of Coutinho as a bonus.

It seems to me, instead of being eased gradually into the side
& allowed to DEVELOP in a natural fashion over the course of
18 months, the lad is being thrust into the spotlight & expected to be
the answer to everything. Pathetic!

Liverpool FC, football, sport / Fourthless Anfield
« on: February 12, 2013, 06:28:19 PM »
Anyone remember someone piping
on about turning Anfield into a Fortress?

Deluded lunatics aside that
appears to be the end of our
ambitions for fourth this season.
(We're basically holding out for a
simultaneous collapse of Spurs,
Arsenal and Everton...dreamworld)

Why though?

It's not to say that there isn't the
makings of a good team there that
couldn't go on run of victories. Ffs,
the team cost enough.

But the attitude from the manager is wrong!

3 points cheaply surrendered at home to
a team with a fraction of our resources
and nothing from the gaffer by way of
explanation or reaction.

On the back of 4 points cheaply surrendered at the
Emirates and Etihad, it is clear to me that he does
not grasp the essence of being manager of LFC (in
his core) 'cos Shanks would have delivered it
straight last night, a blunt, honest assessment
and demonstrating a resolve to put things right.

What do we get, some muted, cliched for the cameras
BS (he didn't even appear upset?).

I'm embarassed, that guy has no passion!

I'm excited!

http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/ayre-we-fought-for-coutinho

It seems obvious now that there is a coherent (if risky)
strategy in play at the club. The arrival of Coutinho complements
other young technicians at the club, the likes of Suso &
Sterling and we're shopping in a particular market of
unfinished product with potential.

Lucas (God bless him) is well used to operating in a team
with flair players.

The question though remains, how the 3 of Shelvey, Allen
& Henderson fit in here. Dazzling a team with pace and tricks
is all very well but, I'd argue in a transition period it needs to
be supported by an intelligent (sometimes brutal), hard-working
midfield?

Liverpool FC, football, sport / A team of Suarezs
« on: November 06, 2012, 05:02:28 PM »
It would appear that we are in possession
of the most exciting player in the league

http://www.101greatgoals.com/gvideos/gif-another-angle-of-luis-suarezs-fantastic-golazo-v-newcastle/

What's incredible is not only the tracking and trapping a
fast moving punt from the back on his shoulder under
pressure from a big defender in front of the keeper,
controlling it with precision to land it in the only spot
possible before having the presence of mind and
skill to feign and round a top keeper in the narrowest
of spaces, all done in a split second. I mean holy f**k!!
But the incredible thing is that after scoring he continues
the move, grabs the ball and returns it to the centre spot.

This is the player who SAF branded a disgrace to Liverpool,
a player we should get rid of

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtDI0ROaZJQ

Au contraire Fergie, Luis embodies everything that we should
be striving to attain as a football team, tireless work, relentlessly
competitive and phenomenal skill.

We need a team of Suarezs to get back to the top and the
rest of the players should be embarassed to share the same
grass as him because he's carrying the team all by himself
at the moment.

Time for the rest of the lads to step up and help or give their
wages to Luis  :)

Liverpool FC, football, sport / Paddy Crerand wtf?
« on: October 31, 2012, 03:02:24 AM »
You just have to wonder about the agenda at MUTV

http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/man-united-legend-paddy-crerand-says-on-mutv-you-wouldnt-get-fed-up-of-punching-luis-suarez/

I just don't understand where this is his business and why
he's free to say that he wouldn't get tired of punching our
player.

Bang out of order and he should shut it.

Apologies for creating a thread with their name in the title,
but if some of the statements in it are true then it is disturbing
to say the least!

Kinda makes you wonder why nobody has ever written on this subject before...
