It's my fault, i just knew we were going to get Chelski again, all 4 i predicted...we'll beat them and meet united in the final...but even so...we've played Chelsea so many times it's getting beyond a joke...

And let's face it Ngog? 1 million and it shows...
Al Zhar might be ok in a couple of years..
We're Liverpool for fecks sake...we would buy a star player and he would sit in the reserves for 6 months! Not play straight away!
And as for Kuyt...yes he runs...but we can get forrest gump for that!

Ok hard questions sometimes have to be asked. Was selling Keane due to the political machinations the brightest move?

It all depends who we play....if it's mascherano, reira, gerrard and alonso in midfield with keane/babel and torres upfront then fine.....
if we play lucas leiva, and benayoun in midfield with babel as roaming marauder...then we'll get nowt...

I know i rant...and i can...but it comes down to this...back the manager against the miasma of crapola thrown at him....every single player who reads this should pass it is up to you now...these are the etheral times and the times when men are men....if the players aren't reading this, then shame on them...those in liverpool pass it on....hand it to them, spread the word... rafa can't win the league with these monkeys running the show, unless the players show their fight....sure, Keane is left out, so what, you're still being paid a bit more than me matey...i would kill to play where you some class and show some balls...
it's the only thing that will win the league....

Rafa is an ambitious man, he knows that with a few of the additions he has asked for in the last few years i.e Alves, Saviola, Barry, that we would be 7/8 points ahead now and out of sight (in the context that we get stronger in the 2nd half).
I have absolute faith that he wants the best for Liverpool and he knows his stuff. Sure there have been some questionable buys, sure he got rid of Danny Murphy but he got Torres, Alonso, Agger, Reina, Mascherano, Babel and they are world class.
Loyalty goes both ways and the 2 yanks and the ones that brought those 2 jokers in have hardly been loyal to Rafa or the club..Rafa is tired of false and silent promises, he wants people to stand up and back him.
Everyone whispers and gossips but never takes a stand. Rafa has done. The Murdoch press are bound to call his words 'rants' because their scum. He says it like it is, like everyone has felt for years, sure his comic delviery needs tuning but he's got better things to worry about. It was off the cuff, from all accounts he checked it with his players and we need to start backing him.
Nuff said?

Liverpool FC, football, sport / Rafa rejects contract

Read all about it here....allegedly as its in the mail...

The talk here in Spain is that Rafa will join Real Madrid at the end of the season. Marca and AS have been talking about it for quite a while now...

Ack...Kopite999 beat me to it in another thread....apologies..

i also think that we have EVERY chance to win the league this year...we're playing well, Torres is coming back and i most DEFINATELY think we have the bottle and the big time players to become winners.......It's mind games now and its time we seize the day (or season in this context)

i was going to say 'If Benitez had been allowed to buy Simao those three years ago, i have no doubt that we would have been challenging for the league back then....he's been hamstrung by those who own the club even before Hicks and Gillette' ...but then hindsight is a wonderful thing

(With apologies to the tune of yellow submarine)

In the inn just called the lounge,
Sat our stevie drinking beer,
And he stood and went to dance,
To his favourite all time tune.....

We'll all play your music stevie g
music stevie g, music stevie g,
We'll all play your music stevie g,
music stevie g, music stevie g,

I seem to remember also that in september Amanda Staveley and the Sheikh had stopped working together and that she was now working for another Dubai consortium. This is just mischief making by the Murdoch papers...

I think it's to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum's credit that he didnt give up on us two years ago when moores and parry stabbed him in the back. He isn't going to pay over the odds to the two yankee pirates who are now quite clearly seen as in it for the money. The Sheikh will wait and then see what happens on January the 25th. The credit crisis is a third of the way through, Gillett and Hicks will find credit constraints getting tighter and then others will finally get rid of the curse of their reign.
As for the diseased Murdoch scum it holds no relevance.
