but, isn't it amazing when you have a top manager in, the clear and obvious difference (between a good one, and an average one).
Dude, I recall you nailing it several years ago, Rodgers as a David O' Leary type.

All I know now is that it feels like LFC for the first time in ages. I'm enjoying it  :)

I seem to recall some numpty harping on about the
need to rebuild before his departure.

No, we just needed a decent manager with heart and ambition!

Welcome back, Ed,  from your Rodgersrised hiatus. The air is fresh once more, not longer pungent with the stench of b.s (brendan speak).
Thanks Tes!  :)

Thank Christ that Rodgers f**ker is gone along with
his Nouveau Swansea clusterf*ck methods.

Welcome Back LFC.

Welcome Herr Klopp.

The winter of discontent is over and I can see the Red Giant
rising again on the horizon.

I feel alive again as a Red. :)

It may not be from the lest but weren't we quite good against the Thailand XI?
:)

Who knows how the season will pan out.

At present there's a lack of momentum but things can change.

What irks me is the predictability of our transfer dealings. We can't afford genuine
superstars so instead we pay lots of money for players who aren't i.e. from the second
or third tier. It's like we're trying desperately to keep up with the Jones. We're Liverpool,
so we're expected to spend X amount each Summer + 1 supposed marquee signing. Then
we spend the first 3 months of the season desperately seeking signs of footballing life in
whoever we overpaid by £10 million for - mind-numbingly predictable.

I look at Everton and see a club that cuts its cloth and seems more coherent in terms
of a development cycle as we stagnate with transfer ideas that don't work. Meanwhile
the development areas of the club are neglected (which could probably use the £10 million
extra we wasted on whoever).

But, and here we go again, let's not forget who in his pomp overhauled the youth and reserves
set up getting rid of good men along the way.

My, my, first page of the RAWK thread on United game reminds
me of the more cynical amongst us on the pre-Brendan appointment
debate. Seems they're over 3 years behind!

http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=322898.0

Meanwhile, some easy fixtures coming up, so the course of the season should not
become apparent 'til the fixtures against Spurs, Everton and Chelsea (no doubt by
then scrambling back up the table with a point to prove by then) in October.

I think the fanbase need to be studying Everton in this early part of the season
and forgetting about the elite clubs. Everton provide a reasonable barometer in
terms of our progress.

The point being that the narcissism, delusion and subsequent hopelessness
stems from unsuitable comparisons with Arsenal, United, Chelsea and City.
We simply do not have the class of manager, resources or structures that those
clubs enjoy.

Everton are the club which provide a true measure of our reality. We should be
looking at things like their young centre-half and asking questions about how we
compare across the board.

I suspect Rodgers will be sacked at that meeting (just like Dalglish was three years earlier).
You look at Arsenal today, class, cohesion and confidence
in all areas of the pitch and more talent on the bench and
it just shows we're miles behind them. And they actually
competed in the league & Europe this season  :o

What really grates is how Arsenal have used the FA cup to
build a platform of success from, to the point where they
can actually look to compete for the title next season.

By contrast after 3 years under Rodgers, we're a joke. Simply
not a football club anymore. An annoying outfit lead by a jackass.

It would have me giving up on footy all together if he's staying.
I couldn't stomach another minute of it either.

It's not about being right, before that one gets thrown about because there's nothing right about any of this, other than it being a right mess.
Agree 100% Tes.

Christ I just want to get back to supporting the team &
hating the Mancs. Hating the manager is so un-LFC.

Has he gone yet?
I'm the same, just waiting for the headline on BBC Football:

"Rodgers Sacked as LFC Manager"

The club has made an announcement today...blah, blah, blah.

They would like to thank Brendan for his contribution to LFC during
his tenure and wish him every success in his future footballing career.

The only question for me is how long the knives will be really.

ruddy ell, move over Martin.  Ed has now taken top slot in the Salvatian Army sponsored Depression Premiership.

 :)
Hey, I let you optimistic people away with murder these last 3 years
and suffered much abuse for my entrenched negativity.  ;D

Makes no difference having a discussion about it. There's no way
BR is going to be the manager of LFC next season.

In order to manage a club the SIZE of us, for an extended period of
time, the manager would need to be someone special. Flavour of the
month in the Premier League is, imo, a very, very poor indicator.

Who manages the top clubs in Britain? Is their a precedent for giving
a manager that just won promotion from the championship (3 managers
do this every season) charge of a multi-million pound global institution
with a glittering history?

Tbh, imo, it's simply the most ridiculous idea that's ever been posted on
this forum!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
ROFL, I love the maybe even bit. Quick lets get on the phone to Brendan Rodgers then!

It's about time I got to enjoy my time in the sun  :P

Liverpool striker Divock Origi named in ‘Ligue 1 worst team of the season’

I don't know but I have a feeling many of the players felt all along Rodgers are using them in a fundamentally dysfunctional system.
Daniel Agger was LFC through and through in terms of his attitude and
loyalty. He hinted at the problem as he left the club.

I presume in his own mind Rodgers sees himself as the genius not Suarez.

That's all very well, but it works both ways.

If you want to be the top dog amongst young and foreign players (who's
loyalty does not necessarily reside in Liverpool) then it's about results. Once
the doubts concerning the methods of the gaffer begin to creep in...

That's why we're easy pickings for the journeymen pros in lesser clubs.

I still shudder at LVG's comments:

"Vee beet dem vith der own Veapons"

We were found out as a one trick pony and the gaffer began to question
his methods and previous conviction. The dressing room was watching.
(of course having side-shows like Stevie, Balo and Sterling doesn't help).

me thinks Ed has done a serious amount of industrial editing, of old posts!

Pure and utter propaganda.

Lord Haw Haw lives!    :D
It loses the drama if I include the surrounding context of your and Tes's posts.  ;D

Mind, I'm probably doing a Marx a favour leaving some stuff out.  ;D

Oh well, hopefully within the next few days we'll all get the manager LFC deserves
and we can get back to talking about footie!

This is how we stacked up this time last season.

People call me cynical. Nah, I'm just an old-school Red  :P  :P

Anyway, I'm under no illusions how we got to where we were this season, ditching cup
campaigns, no Europe or United, Mourinho's first season back. Well at least Brendan got
his contract extension to 2018...

Next season's target surely has to be establish ourselves in the Top 3

Brendan has finally caught on to how this footy game works.

We're on our way to glory. He built the team like Shankly did, the kids will have a story.

Worst defeat since 1963...we are a laughing stock.
Is someone making up the football results,
I simply can't believe the scoreline.
