Sky Sports Geoff Shreeves in this hilarious interview with Christian Purslow after Debrecen reminds me of a kid in the backseat of a car going on a journey:

"Are you going to fire him yet?"
"Yes but"
"Are you going to fire him yet?"
"Yes but"

Liverpool FC, football, sport / G**y N*ville is Right!

It's through gritted teeth that I even mention the c**ts name but I'm sorry he's dead right!

I'm reluctant to criticise the gaffer, though certainly at the end of the season the buck stops with him.

Anyway my point is we DESERVE to be where we are currently. The players that have come in for the injured quite simply haven't done the job and probably don't deserve to be at the club. If there is one criticism that I would level at Stevie G it's that sometimes he appears to be too nice as a captain.

I'm not going to mention the type of captain that I'd prefer. Suffice it to say he had the strictess of STANDARDS and there's lots of wastes of space around the club that appear not to recognise the great honour that it is to wear the shirt and the simple mantra that "if you're second you're nothing".

I'm ranting but it's overdue! This nonsense about going on winning streaks makes my blood boil. Sunderland? Birmingham? Alonso? Excuses? Get real! The reality is 13 points behind in November and out of the Champions league.

13 games played, 13 points behind?  :-[

Mind you, when Ngog dived against Birmingham I had no problem! I can justify this but it would take forever and make no sense whatsoever....Anyway the point is that cheating in football is acceptable.

If you hold your Hand up in front of 70,000 people and say ref I handled the ball you are a man and deserve respect.

If you don't you're a cheat!

Henry is a cheat!

Football is not a game for men but for cheats!  At least that's clear now.

Was mailing my brother there about last nights game and with a day to think about it
wrote the following:

There is the makings of an absolutely devastating attacking team (+subs)
in there but it could take the rest of the season to work out how it
can function effectively and the conundrum is whether it can coexist
with a rock solid defence. Maybe Insua will be the first casualty in
the restructuring that'll inevitably take place over the break.

Is that the position to begin with i.e. get left-back right?

F**k it we got a result! Not the one I was hoping for though!

Hopefully the curve is on the way back up again. Some great performances from Johnson, Lucas, Gerrard, Ngog, Kuyt and Masch last night. They are wearing the shirt and that's fine by me. (Shame about Riera and hope it's not serious with Benny)

I actually got more worked up watching the game last night than against United. If we could just play with the spirit of the second half last night for the rest of the season. As long as there's passion and determination I'll not complain, after that it's a funny old game?

Sorry guys there can really be no excuses tonight!

BWM unfortunately I can offer nothing in the way of intelligent debate, except to say that I like Rafa. btw I think it was Madonna (pre-Kaballah) who has come closest to describing some of the reason for the fans affection:

I made it through the wilderness
Somehow I made it through
Didn't know how lost I was
Until I found you

I was beat incomplete
I'd been had, I was sad and blue
But you made me feel
Yeah, you made me feel
Shiny and new

Wasn't expecting this one!

I'm sure if we looked long and hard at the situation we'd rapidly come to the conclusion that there is no CRISIS regarding the playing and management side of things at the club.

We are simply victims of a bizarre requirement on the part of the media that Liverpool be the designated club in CRISIS with the manager constantly been on the verge of being sacked. This b*llshit goes together with some imagined time pressure to win the league immediately.

The results haven't been great, the gaffer has made a few mistakes (proof that he's human!) and we got more than the usual number of injuries. These things happen every now and again at every football club. So it might be time to revise expectations downwards for the season instant gratification.

Taking a long term view things are fine in my opinion and I respect the boldness of Rafa in trying (somewhat against his nature) to make us a more attacking side.

wtf is going on here!

This is quite frankly a load of b*llocks! Even posting the United team on this forum is really distasteful in my opinion! Clearly I'm some imbecile Liverpool supporter living in denial. However, this crap about world-class players and teams with 2 players is a direct result of lazy punditry and prime time football slots with a lot of air time to fill up.

Obviously Rush & Daglish were our 2 man team in the eighties with a bunch of journeymen nobodies alongside. WHATEVER!

It's a TEAM game and not so long ago our team got 86 points in the league. Currently, no doubt, there are some issues but the likes of Reina, Mascherano (captain of Argentina), Agger, Kuyt are Liverpool players as far as I'm concerned and I'm happy to support them week in week out regardless of what I hear in the press.....

Granted most of us love Stevie G (dude can be a bit sceptical, me as well sometimes). My point is though that it's always nice to hear from the captain when we're in a slump. Unless I'm mistaken, I haven't heard a peep out of him lately. It's a bit strange cos ex-midfielders Hamann & Whelan have had plenty to say.

There doesn't appear to be any audio on the clip, it's about 4 and a half minutes in!
Absolutely sublime, it's the way he wins the ball back, genius!
