Liverpool transfer news: Bookie reveals ‘flurry of bets’ on shock summer signing

https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/968481/Liverpool-transfer-news-bookmaker-flurry-of-bets

By all means sign Butland if the price is right, but seeing as both Mignolet and Karius need shipping out, then Butland should only be secondary to either Oblak or Courtois, who looks as though he's on his way out of Chelsea.

With Real without a manager, we should try and get in before that changes. We know what we're getting with Courtois, and that he knows the score with the PL and can cope with it.

Alisson seemingly only has eyes for Real, which is hardly surprising considering he's South American, and we don't want someone who we know is only using us as a stepping stone.

Dear Santa,

Can I have my present early this year. I'd like a new goalkeeper, please. A proper one.

Marcus Rashford urged to leave Manchester United for Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea

I know it's the least likeliest transfer of any player we will be linked with this Summer, but I'd love to have him in our squad. He offers something different to Mane, Salah and Firmino, and we'd be far stronger with him in the first team, than without him, if at any time one of those three weren't available, or give us a different dimension instead of one of them at times.

Still can't believe we beat City in both legs.

I'm not really fussed who we get in the draw as all 3 teams will be tough. If we get to the final I'd prefer Bayern there, simply because we've never played them in the European Cup final before.

Klopp's going to have to come up wit a plan to make sure City can't target Trent, and leave him isolated against Sane, or even Sterling.

Right now I'd settle for 0-0, and then try and get a score draw at the Etihad.

Indeed I share that feeling. Hopefully this season will develop TAA and Gomez further and there is Clyne to come.

Unless one of Lovren or Matip leaves though I doubt we'll be targeting a centre back. I think we'll be concentrating on a Mignolet replacement and a No.6 for the midfield. Plus a Coutinho replacement.

A comfortable enough win, but I'm still not convinced by us defensively. It feel more by luck than design that we kept a clean sheet.

I'm glad we've got City. There shouldn't be any complacency and we know exactly what we're up against.

I'm not bothered that we're at home in the first leg either. As long as City don't score at Anfield, then I'm not too bothered about the score. Whilst going there with a lead would be handy, the second leg basically becomes a one off game, and whilst they have an advantage of being at home, that brings with it it's own pressure and expectation. Meanwhile, we have an advantage in that we can win 1-1, 2-2 etc.
If we go to the Etihad with City having not scored at Anfield, we know City will have to come at us which may give us a chance of knicking something on the break, and if we can pinch an away goal then the game will have to open right up.

Barcelona news: Philippe Coutinho causing problems for Ernesto Valverde - report

https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/930750/Barcelona-news-Philippe-Coutinho-causing-problems-Ernesto-Valverde

"However, it appears his move may be turning sour.

According to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, Coutinho is refusing to change his position from an attacker to a midfield-based outlet.

The 25-year-old has been deployed alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in attack of late.

But the publication claims Valverde wants Coutinho to fill the hole which will be left when Andres Iniesta calls time on his glittering career.

And the new arrival's reluctance to alter his stance may lead to a change of Barcelona's transfer policy.
"

Well, well. The grass is really greener in Liverpool than in Barcalona.

Sometimes players really don't understand when they are actually well off.

£25M and we'll take him off your hands.
